A Great Place to Learn and Play After School
Welcome to the Magdalena Ecke Family YMCA's After School Recreation (Rec) program serving St. James Academy students from TK to Grade 8.
This is a recreation program operated by the YMCA and is license-exempt as defined by CA Department of Social Services Community Care Licensing Division, and CA Health & Safety Code. This program complies with all written requirements of privately operated recreation programs as stated by those entities.
Our YMCA Recreation Program is a way to ensure your child is in a safe, fun, and caring environment after school. Each day includes new curriculum or activities to help participants learn, build life skills, and develop healthy relationships — including healthy snacks, sports and games, art and music, tutoring, and more!
Students must be enrolled in the program in order to attend. The YMCA Rec program is Monday-Friday, PM only, and does not operate on days when school is not in session. (Please see our day camp options for weekdays when school is not in session.) Our program will continue to be safe as ever, as our staff are highly experienced with the Y’s safety protocols & we continue to make safety our number one priority.

About Our Staff
All staff leaders are selected after a thorough interview and background check/ cleared fingerprint process. In addition they are First Aid/CPR certified. Our staff desire to be a great role model for your child and demonstrate YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Our staff are trained to develop program curriculum geared towards student interests and community well-being; providing each day with something new and engaging. Staff follow positive behavior management and communication guidelines to support positive youth development.

Program Serving St. James Academy:
- 2:45 - 6:00pm on regular days (M-TH)
- 1:15 - 6:00pm on early dismissal days (F)
- 12:00 –6:00pm on minimum days (St. James designated calendar days)
The YMCA After School Recreation program operates after each day school is in session including all minimum days.
Fees for YMCA Before and After School Rec at St. James Academy
Fees have been calculated based upon an annualized rate of the total number of program days and divided into 11 equal monthly payments regardless of the number of school days per month of service. Fees cover all minimum days.

A monthly draft schedule will be set up at the time of registration. All fees are due on the first of the month of service. Fees can be paid by credit card or by ATS (bank draft).
If balances are not paid on time, your child may not participate in the program. Scholarships are available for those that qualify — apply for a Scholarship online here.

ENROLLMENT & PARTICIPATION INFORMATION
Register online to secure your spot! All participants register online via our member portal. Please log in and create a Y Account in order to access registration details. As part of the online registration process you will be asked to fill out an enrollment packet with your child(s) information, sign up for specific program options (5 day/3 day), and review and sign the recreation program admissions agreement and YMCA participant waiver.
If you are registering more than one child, please register them individually. Please allow three (3) business days for our Business Center to enroll your child(ren) and contact you to schedule monthly payment.
- Registration fee is $50 for YMCA members and $100 for nonmembers.
- Full-time is considered five days per week.
- Part-time is considered three days per week.
