The YMCA of
San Diego County will make the holidays brighter for more than 4,000 deserving
children through its annual Holiday Toy Drive. Now through Dec. 12, the YMCA
will be accepting new, unwrapped toys and gifts for children through the age of
17 at any San Diego County YMCA
location.

Donations
will largely benefit deserving, low-income youth from Border View, Copley
Family, and Jackie Robinson Family YMCAs.
In addition, gifts will assist YMCA OZ Shelters that provide both
temporary and long-term shelter and support services for youth with the goal of
increasing self-sufficiency, positive relationships, academic achievement and
personal growth.Toys will also be donated to disadvantaged children at
individual branches throughout the county.

¢‰âÒPlacing
toys in the hands of children who may not receive another during the holiday
season fills all YMCAs of San Diego County with a beautiful spirit and an
unending goodwill,¢‰âÂå said Richard Collato, president and CEO, YMCA of San Diego
County. ¢‰âÒCaring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility are the four core values
of the YMCA. It's through events and programs like the Toy Drive that we help to instill those values
in young people that build healthy spirits, minds and bodies.¢‰âÂå

During the
month of December, Border View, Copley Family, and Jackie Robinson Family YMCAs
will all hold Holiday Toy Give Away Parties for families and children who have
been pre-registered to receive a free toy. The events will also include activities
like face painting, arts and crafts, raffles and the opportunity to meet Santa
Claus.
