The Rancho Family YMCA is thrilled to announce the addition of Swim Coach Jordano Quaglia to our aquatics team! With decades of experience, Jordano has a great passion for swimming and is looking forward to helping guide our swim team to achieve an even greater level of excellence.

Originally from Brazil, Jordano immigrated to the U.S. in 1989 to attend graduate school. While in Brazil, he earned his Bachelor's in History and Physical Education and competitively swam from 1967 until the 1980s, attaining local and state level titles. He also served as the head swim coach at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP) for five years. After arriving in the U.S., he competed as a Master Swimmer in New York until 1995 and went on to become a Master Swimming coach.
Jordano taught Brazilian Portuguese at Yale University for seven years and while there, had the opportunity to work alongside Hall-of-Famer Head Swim Coach Frank Keef. In the Payne Whitney Gymnasium, Jordano served as a swim instructor to individuals of all ages and skill levels — from beginner to Olympic-level — with a focus on technique development of all strokes.
Until 2020, Jordano specialized as an Elite swimming coach with a focus on analytical stroke development. In Connecticut, he worked as a triathlon swimming coach for TriFitness and also served as an age-group swim coach for the Bulldog Swimming club.

Join the Rancho Family Y Swim Team
Our YMCA Swim Team program offers a fun and challenging environment for swimmers who can already demonstrate basic skills and are ready to take those skills to the next level! Youth who join YMCA swim teams not only become better swimmers, they also learn camaraderie, discipline and respect. Our coaches encourage swimmers every step of the way to improve and do their personal best while training together as a team.
