From June 22 - 25, 2010, the East County Family YMCA will host more than
4000 gymnasts and their families at the 2010
YMCA National Gymnastics Championships at the Town
and Country Resort and Convention Center, 500 Hotel Circle N., San Diego, CA 92108.
Competitions run from 8 a.m. 5 p.m. from June 23 25 (detailed schedule
available online at www.ymcanationals2010.org)

Boys and girls teams, ages 5 18, will compete in three days of events.
Eligible participation in this competition requires that each child
qualifies by high all-around scores throughout the year. Female gymnasts will
compete in four events; bars, beam, vault and floor. Male gymnasts compete in six
events: bars, beam, floor, vault, pommel horse and rings.

Opening ceremonies
will be held at Sea World on Wed., June 21 within Shaumu's Stadium. The
ceremony will include keynote speaker Lindy Fordem Donahue.Donahue
is a former YMCA gymnastics team member and instructor now living out her
lifelong dream as a member of the Killer Whale Training Team at Sea World in San Diego.

event and now it has become the largest gymnastics competition of its kind,¢‰âÂå said

YMCA (East County Family YMCA) has been home to the most highly regarded YMCA
gymnastics program in the country for over 25 years.

Event sponsorships, individual spectator day passes and 3-day spectator
passes are still available. Daily ticket prices are $12 for adults and $8 for
kids. Funds raised from the event will help to make resources available for all
YMCA programs that build strong kids, families and communities throughout the East
County of San Diego.
