The Copley Family YMCA is pleased to announce the 30th Annual Civic Tribute on Tues., Oct. 30, 2012, 5:30 p.m. at the Hilton Bayfront San Diego, 1 Park Boulevard, San Diego, CA 92101.

Event proceeds raised at the Annual Civic Tribute Event are used to support the youth of San Diego through the programs and services offered by the Copley Family YMCA. Individual tickets are $200 with multiple table sponsorships available.

The event honors the achievements and community contributions of San Diego State University Men's Basketball Coach, Steve Fisher.

For the past 13 seasons, Steve Fisher has guided the San Diego State men's basketball program to unparalleled heights. He has taken a program that regularly missed out on the conference postseason tournament, to one which has become one of the best programs on the West Coast and in the Associated Press Top 25 preseason poll. Since the 2005-2006 season, Steve Fisher has led the Aztecs to seven consecutive post-season appearances, and back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances for the first time in school history since the 1974-1975 and 1975-1976 seasons.

Every year the Copley Family YMCA hosts a celebration fundraiser, honoring a fellow San Diegan. Annual honorees are chosen based on their community dedication, involvement and achievements.

All proceeds benefit the Copley Family YMCA that serves an ethnically diverse community of over 200,000 in mid-city San Diego. The Copley Family YMCA is proud to be the oldest health and human services non-profit organization in the mid-city area of San Diego, serving this traditionally low-income and diverse Southern California neighborhood since 1946. This community of over 200,000 residents faces severe economic challenges; nearly 40 percent of families fall below the poverty line and the area is known for its high level of cultural diversity, hosting 36 different spoken languages.

Our organization is committed to engaging the community via three focus areas: youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Copley Family YMCA serves over 8,500 annually with multi-faceted programming activities for people of all ages and backgrounds.
