Each year, YMCA Community Support Services (CSS) supports nearly 90,000 people across San Diego County as they navigate pivotal transitions – finding a stable place to live, accessing mental health support, securing child care, or building skills for the next stage of life.
Public funding makes much of this work possible, but it doesn’t always keep up with the urgency or complexity people are facing. Donors like you make the difference, providing the flexibility needed to strengthen programs and meet real needs as they arise.

- Young people experiencing homelessness are connected to safe, stable housing
- Children, youth, and families can access mental and behavioral health support in schools, neighborhoods, and community spaces
- Young adults gain education, work experience, and life skills that open doors to independence
- Parents can earn a living knowing their children are learning and cared for through child care and after school programs
- Foster youth, kinship caregivers, and families are surrounded by relationships, resources, and community, not left to navigate systems alone
